Moat Barn Nursery School has been in existence for over ten years and has an enviable reputation for high quality childcare within the local community.

We are registered for 70 children aged between three months to eleven years.  In our under twos room we maintain a strict child to staff ratio of 3:1 in our two – three year old room we maintain a ratio of 4:1 and in our three to five area we aim to maintain above required levels of child to staff ratios of 6:1.

Each child is valued as an individual without racial and gender stereotyping. Differing cultures, ethnic, religious and social groups and those with and without disabilities will be valued and respected.

Free Places for 3 and 4 year olds

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to part time Early Years funded sessions through the Nursery Education Grant. The Nursery Education Grant starts the term after your child’s 3rd birthday. Funding is available 38 weeks per annum and can save on nursery care or gain free sessions for a maximum of 15 hours per week (term time only). Please speak to the Manager for more details.

Free Places for 2 year olds

Funding is available to parents who are in receipt of qualifying benefits:

• Child Tax Credits over £45 per year
• Income Support
• Income related Employment Support Allowance
• The Guaranteed element of the State Pension Credit
• Extra Working Tax Credit Related to a disability
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• Working Tax Credit during the 4 week period immediately after their employment finishes or they start to work less than 16 hours per week.

Funding is available for 15 hours per week for 38 weeks per annum (term time only). To claim please speak to the manager and we will need to see proof of eligibility, child’s date of birth and complete a declaration form. We arrange our waiting list in order of date of birth and we monitor the gender and ethnic background of children joining the Nursery to ensure that no accidental discrimination is taking place. Moat Barn Nursery supports equal opportunities.
